Propolis is a balsamic substance made by bees from some resins obtained from shoots of some trees. It was yet used in ancient Egypt, and its recent scientific study has showed it is a great natural curative substance. Bees use it to varnish, disinfect the hive, and to impregnate the inside of cells so that the queen can use them for laying eggs again.

The composition of propolis is: 50% resins and balsams, 30% wax, 10% scented oils, 5% polen and 5% different organic substances. It also contains, among others, the following trace elements: copper, manganese, barium, calcium, cobalt, chrome, iron, nickel, silicon and zinc.

It has been proved its antibacterial, antiviral, fungicide and anti-inflammatory properties, as a local anesthetic, cellular regenerator, healing and deodorant, as well as able to increase the mechanisms of defense of human body.
