The chestnut is a typical autumn fruit, we can find them in the market from late September to almost December.
We must highlight of chestnuts are low calories, compared to other nuts such as nuts. It has high fiber content, proteins and carbohydrates.
Precisely thanks to their high fiber content they become suitable foods against constipation. In addition, they are useful in slimming diets because they exert a clearly satiating effect.
They are a good source of minerals, among which we highlight magnesium, potassium, iron and phosphorus, and according to some studies are attributed both anti-inflammatory and vascular properties.
Although they are also known because in the digestions they can become heavy, if we chew them well and we do not eat them in excess, this matter would be solved.
Since it is a seasonal food we must take advantage of including them in our dishes.

Here is the simple recipe

MOUSSE OF CHESNUT
Ingredients:
500 gr. of chestnuts
milk
150 gr. of sugar
4 eggs
30 gr. of butter
1 tablespoon of chocolate powder and 2 tablespoons of brandy.

Cut the chestnuts on top and cook in boiling water for 5 minutes. After that time drain them and when they are cold, peel them.
Put them in a saucepan, cover with milk and cook until tender. Removed from the fire and mash them.
Add the butter to this mixture, stirring well to integrate and then incorporate the brandy, chocolate and sugar. Continue mixing and add the yolks of the eggs one by one, so that they will integrate well.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and add them to the previous mixture, mixing carefully so that they do not get too low.
Spread the mousse in individual glasses and let cool in the refrigerator before serving.
